Hot or Not Under Attack!
Earlier this summer, HotorNot tried to go down the ‘plentyoffish.com’ path, turning their dating website free by being ad supported. This was great for a while, and they were getting more subscribers than ever. But then the ugly (or not so ugly in this case) spammers rose their ugly head. Within just a couple of weeks, fake spam profiles started to appear like wildfire - particuarly with suggestive and glamorous photos of women. This started to annoy me - in particular the weekly ‘new member’ emails started looking more like a porn advert! I guess others were getting annoyed too, because earlier this week Hot or Not took notice and announced that they will be going back to their paid subscription system to stop their dating website from being swamped with these fake profiles. So no more free dating at HotOrNot - but still its still way cheaper than using other dating sites, and I have had way more success there. So, give them another chance… http://www.hotornot.com
